Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This policy is issued by Rigel Ventures LLC, a limited liability company formed in the State of Texas, United States ("Rigel Ventures", "we", "us"). It covers this website at rigelventuresllc.com and the Order Smart application ("the Services").

If you have any question about this policy, or you want us to act on information we hold, email admin@rigelventuresllc.com.

2. This website

This website does not use advertising trackers, and it does not ask you to create an account or submit personal information through a form. The only way to contact us here is by email, which you send directly from your own mail application.

Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical request logs — including IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamp — for security and reliability purposes. We do not use these logs to build profiles of individual visitors.

3. The Order Smart application

Order Smart helps you find restaurant chain menu items that match your nutrition goals. It works without an account, and the current version has no sign-in.

Information stored on your device. The preferences you set are saved locally on your own device and are not transmitted to us. These include:

• Your selected nutrition goal and calorie or protein targets
• Any dietary preferences or filters you apply
• A postal code and search radius, if you choose to enter one, used to show nearby chains
• Menu items you save

You can erase all of this at any time by deleting the application from your device.

Location. If you allow location access, the application uses your device's location on the device itself to work out which restaurant chains are nearby. Nearby-restaurant lookups are performed through Apple's Maps services under Apple's privacy policy. Your location is never sent to our servers, and we do not receive or store it. Location access is optional; you can enter a postal code instead, or change the permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Menu and nutrition data. The application requests restaurant and nutrition data from our servers so it can show you current menu information. These requests are not tied to an account or to your identity.

Search and the AI Assistant. When you use Search or the AI Assistant, the text you type, your selected nutrition goal, and a short list of menu items the application has already chosen for you are sent to our servers and passed to OpenAI (OpenAI, L.P.) to generate suggestions. OpenAI processes this information as our service provider under its API terms, which do not permit it to use the data to train its models. Please do not type personal information such as your name, contact details, or health conditions into Search or the Assistant; the feature only needs to know what you feel like eating.

To keep the feature fast and affordable we also:

• keep a server-side cache of common search phrases together with the suggestions they produced, so that repeat searches are answered without a new request to OpenAI. Cache entries are keyed by the phrase, not by you, and are used for no more than seven days;
• count requests per installation using a random identifier that the application generates on your device. This identifier is not derived from your device's hardware identifiers and is not linked to your name, email address, or Apple Account. It is used only to apply a daily limit on requests.

Purchases. Order Smart Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment and holds your payment details under Apple's own privacy policy; we never receive your card number or billing address. The application checks your subscription status with Apple on your device in order to unlock Premium features. We do not receive your name or Apple Account details from a purchase.

Diagnostics. The application records technical diagnostic information (such as crash and performance reports supplied by iOS) on the device itself. This information is not sent to us. Apple may share aggregated crash and usage statistics with us only if you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in your iOS settings.

What we do not collect. Order Smart does not require a name, email address, date of birth, or payment details in order to function. We do not receive your precise location, we do not integrate third-party advertising or analytics software development kits, and we do not use your information for advertising.

4. Nutrition information is not medical advice

Nutrition figures shown in Order Smart are compiled from each restaurant chain's own published nutrition information (their nutrition documents, menu data feeds, and websites), except where a chain does not publish usable figures, in which case we use a third-party nutrition database and say so in the application. Restaurants change recipes, portion sizes, and preparation methods, and figures vary between locations. Order Smart is an informational tool, not medical, dietary, or health advice. Always consult a qualified professional about your own dietary needs, and check directly with a restaurant if you have an allergy or a medical condition affected by what you eat.

5. Third parties

We use a small number of service providers to operate the Services. They process information on our behalf, only to deliver the Services, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

• Supabase — hosts our database and the server code that answers the application's requests, including the search cache and request counters described above.
• OpenAI — generates suggestions from the Search and AI Assistant text described above.
• Apple — distributes the application through the App Store, processes subscription payments, and provides the Maps services used for nearby restaurant lookups.
• Netlify — hosts this website.

Order Smart may link out to restaurant or delivery websites and applications operated by other companies. Once you follow such a link, you are on that company's service and their privacy policy applies, not ours. We do not control those services.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

6. Data retention

Preferences held on your device remain there until you delete them or remove the application. Cached search phrases are used for no more than seven days and are periodically cleared. Per-installation request counts are kept by day and periodically cleared. Server request logs are retained only as long as needed for security, troubleshooting, and reliability, and are then deleted or aggregated.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because Order Smart is designed not to hold personal information about you on our servers, in most cases the fastest route is simply deleting the application, which also discards the random request identifier so that nothing on our servers can be associated with your installation. If you would like us to act on a request, email admin@rigelventuresllc.com and we will respond within the time period required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

8. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

We operate from the United States, and the Services are hosted there. If you use the Services from another country, any technical information described above is processed in the United States.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Services change. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted within the Services where appropriate.
